Weather Policy
At Sports at the Beach, the safety of our players, coaches, and spectators is our top priority. We understand the frustrations that weather forecasts can create, especially given our location near the beach, where rain is a frequent possibility.
Decision-Making
- No Cancellation Based on Forecast: We do not cancel events based solely on weather forecasts, with rare exceptions for unsafe traveling conditions etc
- Conditions-Based Decisions: Decisions to delay or cancel will always be based on actual field and playing conditions.
- Commitment to Play: We are committed to making every possible effort to play all games and complete tournaments.
Communication Protocol:
- Notification: All coaches and team contacts will be notified of any weather related delays or cancellations via Text and Email
- Calls to Office: Coaches and parents are kindly requested not to call or email the office for weather forecast or updates, when a decision is made we will notify the team coach and contacts provided.
Credit Policy for Weather Cancellations: In the event of a weather-related cancellation, credits will be issued based on the number of games played:
- 0 Games Played: 100% credit valid for one year
- 1 Game Played: 75% credit valid for one year
- 2 or More Games Played: Considered an "Official Tournament," and no credits will be issued.
Official Tournament Definition & Awards:
- If two or more games have been played it is considered an "Official Tournament.
- Awards will be given to First and Second Place Teams based on pool play standings.
Credit Details:
- Credit Amount: The credit issued will be based on the actual tournament fee paid.
- Non-Creditable Fees: Gate fees, processing fees, and administrative fees are not eligible for credits or refunds. No exceptions.
- No Refunds: Teams will receive a credit towards another Sports at the Beach tournament.
- Credit Expiration & Transferability: Credits expire one year from the date of issue and are non-transferable.
Tournament Completion & Extension:
- We will make every effort to complete the tournament within the scheduled timeframe.
- We are unable to continue or extend a tournament to another day or weekend due to weather.
