SATB Youth Baseball Featured Tournaments/Promotional Schedule - 2014

NEW for the 2014 Sports at the Beach youth baseball tournament season, we will have a featured tournament each month.  Featured tournaments will be hosted in a variety of different ways ranging from discounts on park admission, partnerships with community foundations and tournament discounts as well.  

March:

·         Golden Glove Gauntlet - March 22-23, 2014

SATB will host a Horse Tournament on the Basketball Court to kick-start the 2014 baseball season!  Each team will nominate 2/3 players to represent their team in a Horse Tournament for a chance to win a free 2014 SATB Tournament.  Age breakdown will be determined based on participation.  Prize has no cash value.  

      ·         Big Bang Blast - March 29-30, 2014

April:

·         Battle at the Beach - April 12-13, 2014

MLB Pitch. Hit & Run Skills Event

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is a FREE, exciting skills event where participants have the opportunity to compete in four levels of competition including Team Championship events at all 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game.

Sports at the Beach is an official 2014 local host for Major League Baseball and the Pitch, Hit & Run skills event!  The event will be held on Saturday April 12th over the course of the tournament day.  Any player ages 7-14 is eligible for the competition with the age cut off at July 17th, 2014.

May:

·         Armed Forces Classic - May 17-18, 2014

The Armed Forces Classic is intended to express appreciation for men and women currently and formerly in military service.  In order to thank these individuals that serve our great country any person presenting Military identification upon entry into the park will receive FREE entrance for the weekend.

June:

·         Schools Out - June 21-22, 2014

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER...SCHOOLS OUT FOREVER...

Players presenting 2013-2014 school report cards will receive free admission to All Hallows Farm on the Sports at the Beach Complex.  Celebrate the end of the school year and a kick-start to summer with the following at All Hallows Farm:

·         Visit the Petting Zoo

·         Ride the mini train or hop aboard the bucking cow train

·         Play on the large playground, jumping pillow, or one of the many inflatables

·         Explore the new reptile house

·         Ride the new children's zip line

·         Play carnival games or go gem mining

Player can enjoy all this and much more when they present their 2013-2014 school report card for free admission all weekend long!

July:

·         Can of Corn Clash - July 18-20, 2014

Sports at the Beach is partnering with the Food Bank of Delaware for the Can of Corn Clash.  Sports at the Beach has set a goal of hoping to collect 1500 pounds of non-perishable food items during a food drive over the course of this three day tournament.  

Upon entrance into the Sports at the Beach Complex each paying individual will receive $1.00 off park admission when they present a non-perishable food item.  Individuals without a donation for the food drive will have $1.00 of their park admission fee donated to the Food Bank of Delaware.  

The Food Bank of Delaware needs the following items:

·         Hot/Cold Cereals, Fruit juice, Canned meats: ham, tuna, spam, vienna sausage, corned beef, Peanut butter and jelly, Canned soups and stews, Spaghetti sauce, Mixed vegetables, Coffee, Tea, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Shampoo, Conditioner, Bar Soap, plastic utensils, paper towels, paper plates, napkins, tissues, toilet paper.

 

Food for Thought:

**Just $1.00 provides three meals!  $2.50 fills a 10-pound grocery bag, $25.00 can feed a family of four people three meals per day for a week, $100.00 can feed a family of four for an entire month, $26.95 feeds a child for one month and $80.84 feeds a child for the entire summer.**

August:

·         Fall Challenge Kickoff - August 3-September 1, 2014

In order to thank our teams for their continued support throughout the cold spring and the long dog days of summer, Sports at the Beach will host the Fall Challenge Kickoff tournament for a courtesy fee of $650.00.  We would like to thank all of the Sports at the Beach coaches, parents, players and spectators for their sportsmanship and dedication to the game of baseball throughout the 2014 season.
