Are you a Team Coordinator or Involved Parent? Don't Miss This Article for Travel Baseball Tournament Planning!
First and foremost: Hats off to you for all of your hard work! In the 16 years of hosting national travel tournaments for baseball teams, Sports at the Beach has observed that Team Coordinators are typically parents of players or spouses of coaches. Both involve extensive research, synchronizing information, and a lot of multitasking around the clock...so we've done our best to make planning your travel tournament as easy as possible in this guide.
HAS YOUR TEAM SUBMITTED THE DEPOSIT?
Registering for a Tournament is the first step, but you must submit your deposit to hold your spot. Deposits are due seven (7) days after registration; Balance is due sixty (60) days before tournament start date. We do our best to email and remind the Registration Contact of this, but in the event that either the deposit or the balance is not submitted, the system will place you on a waitlist. When this happens, there is a chance you could be locked out of your tournament. Therefore, it is always worth the extra step to confirm with your coach and your team that payment has been made. Once your tournament date is secured, everything else gets easier!
HAS YOUR TEAM RESERVED ACCOMMODATIONS?
Unlike other top tournament destinations, Sports at the Beach is NOT a stay-to-play facility. We know every team is different, and we have partnered with Team-Friendly hotels, campgrounds and rental agencies to provide you with a wide variety of different options. From budget-friendly to beachfront, our hotels offer every kind of experience imaginable at the Delaware Beaches. For your convenience, they are listed by distance on our website and can be found on the blue navigation menu under "Visitor Guide: Accommodations." Reserving early and booking directly with the hotels helps everyone: it provides you the most options and the best deals, and it allows them to offer you exclusive SATB discounts and address any special Team needs.
On-site Team Dorms are also available for stays of 2 nights or more. Many teams choose to stay in the Dorms and fully experience the SATB Complex, while parents can make the most of their trip and relax with the conveniences of a hotel. For your convenience, a Suggested Packing List has been provided and can be found on the blue navigation menu under "Visitor Guide: Staying On-Site."
HAS YOUR TEAM SUBMITTED A ROSTER?
In order to participate in our Tournaments, your Coach or Team Coordinator must complete the Official Sports at the Beach Roster. If you are the person responsible for submitting the roster (i.e. Coach, Team Coordinator, or Contact who Registered the Team), please note that your roster must be submitted on the Monday prior to your tournament. For your convenience, a form is provided right on our website with fields for all information needed. If attending multiple tournaments, be sure to submit a roster for each. More information about Rosters can be found by clicking the link below!
IS YOUR TEAM READY FOR THE SATB COMPLEX?
At nearly 100 acres, the Sports at the Beach complex is truly massive. Unlike other top tournament facilities, we have taken extra steps to add family-friendly activities like the Swimming Pool (open May-August), 2 Playgrounds, Jumping Pillow, Basketball Courts, Archery Range, and More! We are a Pet-Friendly facility with Waste Stations and Shaded Areas provided throughout, so your 4-legged fans can cheer on the team too. You are welcome to supplement our uncovered bleacher seating with easy-up tents, umbrellas and lawn chairs. Coolers are a perfect way to bring team hydration directly to the field; however, we do ask that you limit food coolers to small sizes within the park, as concessions are offered throughout the complex. Our 3 Concessions stands provide breakfast, health-conscious options, traditional ballpark food, and a variety of beverages in addition to ice and condiments. Stop in the Pro Shop for tax-free souvenir and gear shopping, or bring your own equipment and enjoy the open grassy areas with Frisbee, soccer, cornhole, etc.
