2014 BWW Wheelhouse Blast Wrap Up (& Sportsmanship)

Sportsmanship has always been part of the game. You have your sore winners, sore losers, good sports, poor sports, bad sports, et cetera. Sports at the Beach is no stranger to all types of sportsmanship. This weekend, a demonstration of poor sportsmanship was showcased by a young player blantantly throwing his tournament runner-up medal into one of the fishing ponds. The fish probably enjoy their new bling, but was it really necessary? The young man definitely acted in a poor fashion. This action opens up the door to questions of what should be done? "Should the player be called out", "why does the player feel this was appropriate", and "will the team suffer the consequences of his actions" are all questions that come to mind.

Good sportsmanship is important because all the players should be proud of how hard they work and play every weekend. One person shouldn't spoil the bunch of good sports. Baseball is a team sport and the players should be proud of their team effort.

"Sometimes I think sportsmanship is a little bit forgotten in place of the individual attention."
