Accommodation
Where can I find a place to stay?
Sports at the Beach has a list of local hotels and campgrounds in our area. They are listed on our accommodation page. Please contact the hotel and let them know you will be attending our tournament.Who can stay in the dorms?
Coaches and players can stay in the dorms. Coaches room holds 3-4 coaches and player rooms hold 16 players.How much does it cost to rent a dorm?
The dorm fee for teams is $200 per team per night for weekend tournaments. All weeklong Summer Classic tournament teams staying in the dorms are free.Can I bring a golf Cart to the complex?
Please note Sports at the Beach has adapted a policy as of February 7th, 2006 in regards to outside Carts.
Anyone who brings a cart must check in at the Welcome Center and pay a $1.00 fee. You must also sign a Waiver of Liability. You will be issued a permit for the weekend for your cart.
NO ONE UNDER 16 IS ALLOWED TO DRIVE A CART.

When will the schedule be posted?
Schedules are posted on our website at 5 PM the Monday prior to the tournament.What do I need to bring?
Coaches need to bring a printed roster with each players name, DOB, age and uniform number, copy of team insurance. The team must have copies of the players' birth certificates on hand in case of protest. When the team checks in, the manager will be required to sign a Sports at the Beach release waiver.How do you get in touch with the coaches?
We try to get cell phone numbers for contacts. Please go into coaches access and complete the cell phone part for the Manager and coach.When and where do I check in?
For weeeknd tournaments, the manager needs to check-in in the Welcome Center at least one (1) hour prior to the team's first game.
For Summer Classic weeklong tournaments, check-in is in the Welcome Center from 11AM - 2PM on Sunday.
Is there a dress code for the coaches?
Not specifically. Coaches are not required to wear a uniform during the games, but are expected to be dressed appropriately.What is the age cut-off date?
The Sports at the Beach season runs from September 1 through August 31 each year. Sports at the Beach determines the age of a player by an April 30th cutoff. For the 2009 season (Labor Day Tournament through Challenge of Champions 2009), their age will be determined by their age on April 30th, 2009. For the 2008 (March through August) season, the age of the player is determined by their age on April 30th, 2008.When will the game results be posted?
Game results are posted in our system as the game scores are received. The standings automatically update live on our website.
Our Welcome Center has monitors on the wall for teams to view the standings.
Do teams need to bring baseballs?
Game balls are provided by Sports at the Beach. Teams should bring their own practice balls.Does our team need its own insurance?
Yes. Each team must provide a copy of their liability insurance at check in in the Welcome Center. Please contact your insurance company and ask for a copy of the "Certificate of Liability". Teams will not be allowed to play without this.What pitching and base distances do you use for each age group at Sports at the Beach?
9U uses 44 foot pitching distance and 70 foot bases.
10U uses 47 foot pitching distance and 70 foot bases.
11/12U uses 50 foot pitching distance and 70 foot bases.
13U uses 54 foot pitching distance and 80 foot bases.
14U uses 60 foot pitching distance and 90 foot bases.
15/16U uses 60 foot pitching distance and 90 foot bases and WOOD bats only.
18/19U uses 60 foot pitching distance and 90 foot bases and WOOD bats only.
Can I transfer my deposit to another tournament?
Our deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Facility
Do you have concessions?
We do have a food service department with three concession stands.
Week long teams will eat in our dining facility near the dorms.
Tell me about the dorms.
Each dorm building houses 6 teams. Each team gets a coaches room with showers and a team room. The coaches room will hold 3-4 coaches and the player room will hold 16 players. Players will share a shower facility with other teams. Each player will need to bring their own bedding for the bunks. They will also need towels and bath items. We will provide footlockers but you must bring a lock.Who is the Pool for?
Everyone who is attending a Sports at the Beach tournament may use the pool.
Do you have a gift shop and photo center?
Yes. We do have a fully stocked gift shop with tournament shirts, jewelry and many other gift items. Our pro shop currently has Mizuno items from Cleats to Gloves.
At the photo center, pictures of teams can be viewed and purchased. Custom shots may be requested as well, just make sure you stop by the Welcome Center and request what you want done.
Is there an admission price?
There is an admission fee to the facility. The price of admission is $5.00 per person (players in uniform and children under ten are not charged) or a seasonal pass can be purchased for $40.00 for the Season running March to October.
For Weeklong Tournaments ONLY there are no admission fees.
Are all of the dugouts covered?

What is there to do in the area?
Sports at the Beach is centrally located within Sussex County, Delaware. Visit the Southern Delaware Tourism website for a list of other activities in our area, as well as the Rehoboth-Dewey Chamber of Commerce.
Parents and Fans
I am a parent, who should I call for more information?
Parents should contact their coaches for more information about the tournament. Most information about the Sports at the Beach facility can be found here on our website.Are there places to sit at Sports at the Beach?
Yes.
Each field at Sports at the Beach has bleachers; however, parents and fans can bring portable chairs, tents and blankets.
Can we bring pets to the tournament?
No. We had a few problems in 2005 with pets, and it has forced us to adopt our current policy. Anyone with a pet at the facility will be asked to leave with the pet. Please do not leave pets in cars. The SPCA made several trips here last year due to concerned people calling them about pets being left in cars. The pets were removed by the SPCA.Is there handicap accessible parking?
Yes.
Sports at the Beach has plenty of handicap accessible parking. If you need assistance getting to the field, we do have golf carts patrolling our grounds and they will take you to your field.
What should I bring for my child?
You should bring along appropriate clothing, sunscreen, etc..
We do not provide water in the dugouts so you should provide drinks for your child. Food coolers should be kept in the parking lot. We do not allow food brought into the park.
We do have basic first aid supplies but not braces, crutches or things of that matter.
And again, please do not bring your pet to the park.
Summer Classic Week Long Tournaments
Do you provide uniforms for the Summer Classic week long tournaments?
No.
Each team will wear its own uniform of choice.
How are payments made for the Summer Classic week long tournaments, and where are they sent to??
A deposit of $500.00 is due within fourteen (14) days of registration.
A second payment of $1,500.00 is due on February 1st, 2009.
Full balance payment must be received sixty (60) days or more in advance of tournament.

Do I need to bring an umpire to the weeklong Summer Classic tournament?
Yes, teams are required to bring an umpire for their appropriate week, however if a team is unable to bring an umpire, Sports at the Beach will provide one for an additional charge of $400.Sports at the Beach Physical Address
